Nalik had a meeting with the curator A. Vestergaard for Statens Museum for Kunst and Kunsthistorisk Auktion, to sparre about the current exibition at SMK – ‘Kirchner & Nolde’ and the light it puts on imperialism, colonialism and parallels to the danish – greenlandic colonial relation.

Being one of the first exibitions with a discursive and critical view on colonialism on danish soil, we believe this debut is a promising and an imperative dialogue between art and society.

Nalik with Kunsthistorisk Auktion are currently exploring the Greenlandic Inuit perspectives and art in Denmark, and the lack of representation. Together we are looking into the possibilities on how to create that space for Inuit art on the streets of Copenhagen.
